BREAKING NEWS!!
JensenEdu - Malware: Fix Tips & Tricks
Here at JensenEdu we were concerned about the potential harm of Ransomware attack known as WannaCry.
JensenEdu understands that Petya has already affected key IT equipment in NZ and around the world. That makes its impact around the world worse than WannaCry. To those people (likely a moderate to large group) whocoded and exported Petya. Pull your head in. This website aims to be positive and uplifting. However, this (Petya and Wannacry) falls outside the normal scope of things. So, for the sake of home users, and also medium to large business around the world. This is the reason for our dissaproval at the malicious nature of the coding.
However, in the mean time we recommend care and caution. Follow these steps. (Even if you don't think you have this on your PC.)
Stay vigillant. Stay safe!
Jargon ahead. Please try not to duck away. Viruses. Malware. Adware. Cookies. (Choc Chip?) No, sorry not this time!!
Where do these things come from. Who makes them? Why? (Regards who makes them and why, that could be the subject of a whole educational paper for a course in ICT at polytech or university.)
Fortunately for you, you have come to the right place. We are going to take away some
of the mystery around these matters.
Though some types of viruses or security treats can be made to look as lovely as a lady
bug or pretty bird that you see in a field. Behind the scenes they are acting more like this:
Despite the fact a person with skill can make them
look like this (see below)
If you see the above screen on your MS Windows PC. (Prior to Petya or Wannacry, this would have probably been a perfectly legitimate screen) reporting progress on steps to fix up any HDD errors.) In light of Petya, even if you are a seasoned home operator, we recommend you shut down the PC, and fast. This could be sign of bad things
Hire an IT professional that has a great reputation. It, (the screen above) could indicate Petya is in process of doing nasty things to your computer. (Whether home or pro user.)
Disclaimer: The graphic above shows EMSISoft. We here at JensenEdu have never used products from that software company. Therefore, we do not endore, or otherwise.... The use of all antivirus/anti-malware is all at each users risk and discretion. As to pros and cons. If any product (downloaded off the internet) is in fact a virus posing as a fix method. Or a genuine product that actually does care about helping people get out of sticky situations.
The information shown in this page is to be taken as general in nature.
Dont let security threats in to your computer, and leave feeling blue.
